Last week, the Orlando Sentinel reported that Florida Hospital will go forward with plans for a $55 million BioResearch Center in Health Village.

Rick Wassel, executive director and general manager of Health Village, a development with Florida Hospital, stated that, come April, site work will begin on the land, and an official groundbreaking will happen a few months later. This will be the first of three planned BioResearch buildings in Health Village, sitting adjacent to the Florida Hospital Translational Research Institute.

The building will be host to both local and international companies, Wassel said. “The pre-leasing is looking good enough that we’re looking at buildings two and three.”

Each building would be nearly identical to the first: five stories tall, 150,000 square feet of space with wet labs.
