Orion Technologies Relocates, Expands HQ To Central Florida Research Park

Avison Young completed a new 11,094 square foot lease for the headquarters of Orion Technologies at Challenger Tech Center, a 351,797-square-foot flex project located on Challenger Parkway within Central Florida Research Park in Orlando. Less than two years after Orion Technologies moved to Orlando from Merritt Island, the computer products manufacturer has more than doubled its footprint in Central Florida. Greg Morrison, Principal and Managing Director of Avison Young’s Orlando operations, along with Nathan Eissler, Senior Associate, secured the relocation and expansion of the tenant on behalf of the building’s ownership, Marcent Equity Group, a long-time private investor in the Orlando area with significant holdings throughout Central Florida.  

“The technology industry accounts for a great deal of recent transactions in University / Research submarket, especially new-to-market and expansions,” said Morrison. “Ownership’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards at the asset and creative strategy and approach to leases resulted in 80,000 square feet of transactions at Challenger Tech Center, of which more than 55,000 square feet were new.”

Representative of Orlando’s growth in technology, which boasts 80,000 technology jobs, Orion Technology was recently given the GrowFL 2015 Companies to Watch Award, a recognition to companies whose momentum and practices point toward significant growth over the next several years.  

“With solid positive absorption in Orlando’s University / Research submarket and total vacancy falling, tenants are acting quickly to secure quality space able to accommodate growth and synergy within business sectors,” said Eissler.

Challenger Tech Center is comprised of six office / flex buildings totaling 351,797 square feet over 33.69 acres conveniently located in close proximity to the Naval Air Warfare Center, the East/West Expressway (SR 408), SR 50 and the University of Central Florida.
