McCraney To Move Corporate HQ To Orlando

West Palm Beach-based McCraney Property Co. will move its corporate headquarters to Orlando, CEO Steven McCraney told Orlando Business Journal.

The company bought a roughly 3,000-square-foot space in January on the 11th floor of The Plaza at 189 S. Orange Ave. and plans to grow into a bigger space as employees move to Central Florida, McCraney said. The move of the company’s roughly 32 employees should be completed by mid-2021.

Avison Young’s Lawson Dann and Scott Pamplin represented both parties in this transaction.

Corporate relocations to Central Florida are rare but important to the region, as they bring new jobs and tax revenue. “We all know the [industrial development] hub over the last 50 years has been Atlanta,” McCraney said during a NAIOP Inc. panel discussion at the Citrus Club on May 16. “Today it’s right here.”

McCraney is involved in some of the largest industrial projects in Orlando, including Infinity Park, an estimated $117 million, 1.3 million-square-foot Infinity Park project in southwest Orlando. The developer is partnering with Lake Nona developer Tavistock Development Co. LLC on the project.

In addition, McCraney wants to build 977,200 square feet of rail-served, industrial and warehouse space on roughly 70 acres at 88 Taft Vineland Road near the Orlando International Airport. The project will be in five buildings and is estimated to cost $63.5 million, according to industry standards. McCraney declined to comment on the project.

McCraney has more than 4 million square feet of construction taking place in the Central Florida region — roughly half of the company’s total construction square footage in the Southeast.
