Mazor Robotics Chooses Orlando For U.S. HQ

. The company will also occupy 6,000 to 8,000 square feet of temporary space in downtown Orlando come January, said Christopher Prentice, vice president of global marketing for Mazor. “This will really be a central point for our operations for America,” Prentice said. “We’re very excited about Orlando.” Mazor will join already-announced BioResearch Center tenants Florida Hospital, which will move its thrombosis lab into 12,000 square-feet in the building, and San Diego, Calif.-based Profil Institute for Clinical Research Inc., which plans to bring up to 75 jobs as early as first-quarter 2013 to Health Village. Overall, the BioResearch Building could house up to 300 high-wage jobs. Marcus Hompesch, president and CEO of Profil, said his firm will start out at the 54,000-square-foot Translational Research Institute before moving into the BioResearch Center, which is slated for completion in early 2015. All the right pieces are in place, he said, from political support to Florida Hospital’s support to existing providers such as the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute. “There is a huge potential to see Orlando develop into a next-generation pharmaceutical hub.”   Source:  OBJ]]>
