Commercial real estate veterans Chris Butler and Chad Rupp have joined Franklin Street, one of the fastest growing CRE firms in the Southeast, as managing directors for the office and industrial services group.

The two, who have been partners for more than a decade, specialize in representing national corporate clients for leasing, management and strategic planning.  While they handle multiple markets, their main geographic focus will be Central Florida.

Prior to joining Franklin Street,  Butler and Rupp served as managing directors for JLL’s Central Florida region that covered Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville and parts of the Florida Panhandle.

“Chad and Chris are well recognized as two of the best in the business. Their addition allows us to execute on plans to grow our office and industrial services division, which will be able to provide clients with a full line of services,” said Franklin Street Managing Partner and CEO Andrew Wright.  “I look forward to the great things they will accomplish together using our platform.”

“Franklin Street’s culture is built on teamwork, integrity, collaboration and most importantly putting clients’ needs first,” said Butler. “That, and the fact they are experiencing tremendous growth, is what attracted us to the company. We are truly excited to be a part of this great team.”

“We’re joining at a time when the office and industrial sectors are making a big comeback in Florida,” said Rupp. “And while our industry continues to experience consolidation of the larger real estate firms, we anticipate the opportunity for some great talent to become available to recruit to Franklin Street and build a strong team here in Florida.”

Butler and Rupp first paired up at CLW Real Estate Services Group (now Cassidy Turley).  They opened and managed a Tampa office for the Staubach Company in 2005 and then continued management responsibilities throughout Central Florida with JLL following JLL’s acquisition of Staubach in 2008. Butler and Rupp were responsible for a portfolio of more than 5.1 million sq. ft. of office product throughout Central Florida, as well the recruitment and management of more than 50 professionals.

Butler has 25 years of experience representing local, national and regional office clients.  During his time at Staubach and Jones Lang LaSalle, he generated more than $300 million in transactions and had strategic oversight for multiple national account portfolios comprised of 2.25 million sq. ft. in more than 300 locations across the U.S.  He has received several awards including CoStar’s “Top 25 Power Broker of the Year” for six years straight.

Rupp has been a real estate broker for more than 14 years. He has extensive experience evaluating real estate portfolios and developing strategic plans for institutional corporate clients.  He has represented large healthcare companies, professional service firms, tech, logistics and insurance companies.  He was awarded CoStar’s “Top 25 Broker Award” for five years straight.
