Florida Hospital is scheduled to buy the partially built, bank-owned Rinehart Place in Lake Mary on Dec. 19 and plans to bring a new hospital to the site, sources said.

The hospital system reportedly plans to build a 90,000-square-foot medical facility at the 174,000-square-foot commercial development on Rinehart Road and County Road 46A, according to information provided to Orlando Business Journal. The property was being marketed for $7.9 million, according to a listing on LoopNet.

Miguel de Arcos of Sperry Van Ness Florida, who along with Jeff Henwood, represents the seller, confirmed the property is under contract with Florida Hospital and that it’s due to close this week. He did not provide any additional details.

Rinehart Place, which has been on the market for quite some time and has had multiple suitors in the past, was previously under contract by an affiliate of state health insurance giant Florida Blue, but that deal did not close.

The property has 38,000 square feet of Class A retail space that is 75 percent complete, along with a 6,000-square-foot retail pad and 130,000 square feet of partially built office space.
