Advanced IT Concepts Inc. plans to expand its corporate headquarters in Winter Springs – a nearly $2 million project expected to bring 50 new jobs to Seminole County over the next five years, company and government leaders said Monday.

The defense technology company chose to expand locally after evaluating potential moves in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia, officials said.

Advanced IT received approval for a package of state and local tax-break incentives worth $250,000 over eight years for its expansion, economic development officials said.

The company expects to complete work on its new headquarters on Sundial Point in Winter Springs by August. The expansion is projected to quadruple the company’s work force by 2019.

Formerly based in Casselberry, Advanced IT has been based in Winter Springs since 2012, according to state corporation data. It also has offices in the Central Florida Research Park.

The expansion project was a joint effort of Enterprise Florida, the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, Seminole County and the state Department of Economic Opportunity. “The support received by our company will allow us to focus on growing the company and creating new jobs to better serve our clients,” Advanced IT CEO Gabriel Ruiz said in a prepared statement.

Advanced IT Concepts was founded in 2006 by former military information-technology professionals as a service-disabled, military-veteran-owned business. The company provides design and implementation of computer solutions for the defense industry.

“This expansion is great for Florida’s information technology and defense sector, and the company has proven its ability to thrive as a small business in the Sunshine State,” said Enterprise Florida CEO Gray Swoope in a statement.
