Colliers Hires Prominent Restaurant RE Expert As Managing Director, Retail Services

David GabbaiColliers International Central Florida has hired David Gabbai, one of the Southeast’s top restaurant real estate experts, as Managing Director – Retail Services. In this role, Gabbai will focus on tenant representation for regional and national restaurant and retail chains, while also focusing on outparcel marketing and asset dispositions. Gabbai has more than 25 years of experience in retail commercial real estate in the Orlando market and has closed more than $1 billion in transactions since 1991. He has represented national clients in 23 states, including Buffalo Wild Wings, Miller’s Ale House, T-Mobile, Rooms To Go, Del Frisco’s Grille, Whataburger and more. In addition, he represents Darden Restaurants, Inc., which includes Longhorn Steakhouse, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Olive Garden, Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, Yard House and Seasons 52.  

“David has an extensive knowledge of the Florida market, including strong working relationships with local, regional and national developers,” said Ryan Kratz, President of Colliers International Tampa Bay, Central Florida and Southwest Florida. “Further, he brings with him a tremendous retail brokerage practice, adding to the already strong retail services and investment sales team in the Colliers Central Florida office.”

Most recently, Gabbai worked at The Shopping Center Group, where he focused on restaurant site selection, contract negotiation and strategic planning. Prior to that, he owned and operated Pinecrest Real Estate Group, LLC. He also served as a broker at Main Street Investments.  

“Colliers has a superb reputation in the retail sector and provides a platform that will allow me to take an entrepreneurial approach to serving clients, while also providing ample support,” said Gabbai. “I’m looking forward to working alongside the brokers and staff in the Orlando office, who have already proven to be a great asset when a sounding board is needed.”

Gabbai received his Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management from Florida State University. He remains active with the university’s Center for Real Estate Education and Research.
